Coverage · General & Professional Liability
General and professional liability insurance, written to the contract.
General liability
General liability covers third-party bodily injury, property damage and personal and advertising injury arising from your premises and operations. It is the baseline policy most contracts, leases and customers ask for first.
For contractors and manufacturers the detail is in the endorsements: additional insured status for the prime and the government, waiver of subrogation, and primary and non-contributory wording. We confirm those match the contract before the certificate goes out.
Professional liability
Professional liability insurance, also known as errors and omissions (E&O), protects your business against claims alleging financial loss resulting from your professional services, advice or work product. Common allegations include negligence, errors or oversights, missed deadlines, inaccurate guidance and failure to perform contracted services as agreed. Coverage typically extends to legal defense costs, settlements and judgments, safeguarding your business even when a claim is without merit.

General & Professional Liability
What it covers.
Most prime contracts and customer agreements ask for both policies, with the limits and endorsements spelled out in the insurance section. General liability answers for what happens on your premises and because of your operations. Professional liability answers for the services, advice and work product you deliver.
For businesses in the firearms, tactical and defense sectors, professional liability is often a contractual requirement, and it is a critical component of a well-structured insurance program.

By sector
How it applies to your sector.
Unmanned Systems & Counter-UAS
Standard GL usually excludes aircraft, so flight operations need aviation liability alongside it.
Defense & Government Contractors
Most prime contracts set the GL and E&O limits and the exact endorsement wording.
FFL & Firearms
Premises and ranges are rated on their own, apart from products.
Defense Software & Cyber
Professional liability (tech E&O) is often required alongside GL in customer and prime contracts.
Communications & Space
Covers installation work on customer sites, towers and vehicles, and the engineering advice behind it.

Products and completed operations is usually part of a GL policy, with its own aggregate limit. For manufacturers in specialty classes we often rate products separately.
General liability answers for injury and property damage from your premises and operations. Professional liability answers for financial loss a client says your services, advice or work product caused. Most GL policies exclude professional services, so the two work together.
It varies. $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate is common for GL, and primes often require more through excess. Send us the contract and we will tell you exactly.
